Meeting in Overpelt: Activities

As we have seen in previous posts the performances were the central point of our meeting in Overpelt.
We also did many other activities:  games to get to know each other, cooking and music workshops, a visit to Brussels and a party to say farewell to so many friends and colleagues...  It was a special moment after working together for so many months...

Meeting in Overpelt: Our Joint Fairy Tale

Probably the central event of the meeting in Belgium was the performance of our Joint Fairy Tale.  This story had been written by the seven countries in collaboration.  The characters from the different fairy tales travel from one country to another looking for a solution to their problems.  Finally they meet in Belgium where they will find the answer to their problems in the treasure box.
The soundtrack to the performance was our joint song "The Land of Fairy Tales" performed live by teachers and students.

Meeting in Overpelt: The Belgian legend

In the last meeting in Overpelt we could see the performance of the Belgian fairy tale:  Willem's Journey Along the Six Mills of Overpelt.  Following this link you will see some pictures of the performance.

Pictures of the Prague meeting

From the 25th of February until the 2nd of March we held a project meeting in Prague.  We visited the Zakladni Skola Londynska and did several activities related to the legend of the Golem.

These were some of activities of the meeting (we include some links to the pictures):

-27th February:  Reception at the school, presentation of the different delegations.  Games to get to know each other (see pictures). Prague tour

-28th February:   City treasure hunt, activities at school (see pictures).   Performance of the Golem and handing of the treasure box to the Belgian delegation.

-1st March:   Visit to Petrin Hill;  geocaching activity;  farewell party (see pictures part 1 and also part 2).

The meeting in Turkey: Saturday activities

 On Saturday we were in the big city of Izmir.  We sailed on the bay and visited the Konak and the market.  Later we had our farewell party and sang the "Land of Fairy Tales song".

Meeting in Turkey: Friday activities

On Friday we visited the ruins of the temple of Artemis in Selçuk.  We could also see the Isa Bey Camii and the remains of the Basilica of St John.  Later we went to Sirince and to the Locomotive Museum.  In the afternoon we visitied the famous ruins of Ephesus.

Meeting in Turkey: The legend and the puzzles

 One of the most important activities on Thursday was the performance of the legend of The Love of Artemis and Orion.  We could also see some of the dances that are performed before a wedding.
The different schools also presented their puzzles with scenes from the Turkish legend.

Meeting in Turkey: Thursday activities

 On Thursday we arrived at the Turkish school and we were welcome by the project song.  After several speeches and presentations there were dances, games to know each other.  We also planted trees and visited the ruins of the ancient city of Metropolis.

This is the performance of our song "The Land of Fairy Tales" (in Austria). It deals with the legends we are getting to know in each meeting.

Manlleu meeting (IV): Activities and visits

As in the previous meetings there were a lot of visits and activities planned in Catalonia:  A visit to Barcelona, a visit to the market in Vic (in persistent rain).  There was also geocaching and some games and activities with computers.  Finally there was some food and dance in the farewell party.  Probably one of the highlights of the meeting was the performance of the project song:  The Land of Fairy Tales by all participants.

Manlleu meeting (III): The powerpoint presentations

The six visiting countries had made six powerpoint presentations with their vision of the Catalan legend.

Manlleu meeting (II): The Catalan legend
